Global Talent

The Global Talent Visa is for internationally recognised leaders and potential leaders in academia, research, arts and culture, and the digital technology sector. It allows highly skilled individuals to work in the UK without requiring a job offer or employer sponsorship.

There are two routes: endorsed talent (for established leaders and internationally recognised figures) and exceptional promise (for those in the early stages of their career who have already shown exceptional potential). The route applies to four sectors: academia and research, arts and culture, digital technology, and science and engineering.

Each sector has a designated endorsing body. For academia, this is the British Academy, the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Royal Society, or UK Research and Innovation. For arts and culture, it is Arts Council England. For digital technology, it is Tech Nation.

To apply, you must first obtain an endorsement from the relevant body. This involves submitting evidence of your achievements, publications, awards, or other recognition in your field. Only once endorsed can you proceed to a visa application.

A successful Global Talent Visa can lead to settlement after three years (for endorsed talent) or five years (for exceptional promise), making it one of the fastest routes to settlement for exceptional individuals.

Terence Ray Solicitors advises clients on how to present their credentials to endorsing bodies and ensures that visa applications are properly structured and evidenced.
