Graduate Visa

The Graduate Visa allows international students who have successfully completed a degree or other qualifying course at a licensed UK higher education provider to remain in the UK after their studies.

This route was introduced in July 2021 and gives graduates the freedom to live, work, and job-hunt in the UK without the need for employer sponsorship. You can work in any role, for any employer, including self-employment. There is no minimum salary requirement under this route.

To be eligible, you must have completed a course at an institution that holds a Student sponsor licence and has been approved by the Home Office to offer the Graduate route. Your Student Visa must have been valid when you apply, and you must apply from within the UK.

A Graduate Visa is valid for two years for those who completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree, or three years for those who completed a doctoral qualification. This visa cannot be extended.

After your Graduate Visa expires, you may be eligible to switch to the Skilled Worker route or another long-term work visa, provided you have secured a qualifying job offer with an approved employer. Our team can advise you on next steps as your Graduate Visa approaches its end.

Terence Ray Solicitors assists international graduates with the full application process, ensuring your CAS details are correctly submitted and all supporting documents are in order.
